
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 until 2020. [8][99 Morgan was chosen as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut at the club and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 years old at the time and one of the youngest players on the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She was the second player in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring athlete in the nation to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
