Her mother, Goldie Hawn, is an actor with a lot of fame, and her father, Bill Hudson, is comedian. She was an avid performer from an early age and would jump at the chance to sing and dance on stage. As a youngster, her parents provided dancing classes, and she took classes at the Santa Monica Playhouse. In the year 1996, she received a role as a guest in the TV drama Party of Five. As she was admitted to New York University by Kate Hudson, her goal was to pursue a career in show business but not be able to earn an education. After acting in some minor films, she landed the role that was to prove to be a turning point in her professional career. Kate was cast to play Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. The film didn't do very well at the box-office however, it did receive positive review from critics. It established Kate as an actor within the American film industry.
