Ellie Goulding was born Elena Jane Goulding in Hereford on December 30, 1986. Having caught the public's attention in 2010 through her hits "Starry Eyed" and "Guns and Horses" British vocalist Ellie Goulding rapidly rose to the top of the charts with her energetic electronic pop. Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. Goulding is a standout contemporary musician with her distinctive soprano voice, and her talent in creating songs that are catchy and emotional. She's akin to Kate Bush, Imogen Heap and other artists of the same ilk. In the end, she signed a major-label agreement to Polydor Records and began making plans to launch her debut album.
